INKspired #128 Colour Challenge

Hi everyone,
Welcome to this fortnight's INKspired Blog Hop!

Before me on the hop was Maree McIntosh, who I'm sure gave you inspiration with her wonderful creation using the Colour Combo Challenge below:

Make sure you hop all the way around to check out the wonderful and talented creations everyone has contributed this time round!

How about you have a go with this Colour Challenge?
I would love to see what you come up with!

This colour challenge would have to be the hardest combination of colours for me to gain inspiration, I knew I wanted to use the Good Morning Magnolia Stampset as I wanted something different from a Christmas Card, but how and what was my dilemma!

Here's My Card:

I started with a Sahara Sand card base. My first layer was also Sahara Sand which was popped up with dimensionals, followed by Sahara Sand and Misty Moonlight alternating card strips. These were all attached using multipurpose glue. I also added a piece of Mossy Meadow Striped Ribbon. My flower, from the Good Morning Magnolia Stampset was stamped using Stazon Ink onto Whisper White Thick Cardstock, I stamped 2 images. The colouring was done my using a sponge dauber and Mossy Meadow Ink for the leaves on one image and a Rococo Rose Marker, blender pen and some Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush for the flower on the other image. Both images were die cut using the Magnolia Memory Dies, the flower image I cut away the leaves using my snips and layered it on top of the other image of leaves. Using the sponge dauber can get a little messy trying to stay within the lines so layering the flower on top saved this. The leaves were curled using my bone folder then attached to the card layer using multipurpose glue. My sentiment, also from the Good Morning Magnolia Stampset, was stamped using Misty Moonlight on the Sahara Sand strip. I finished the card with some Pearl Basic Jewels.

The inside is layered with Misty Moonlight, then Whisper White. The saying, from Good Morning Magnolia Stampset and has been stamped in Misty Moonlight. The magnolia, from the same stampset has been stamped with Stazon Ink and coloured with a Rococo Rose Marker and Blender Pen, The leaves are coloured using a Water Painter, without the water and Mossy Meadow Ink. Three corners were given the Trio Punch treatment. The layers have been attached using multipurpose glue.

Thank you for stopping by, next up is Narelle Macey,
Looking forward to seeing what she has created this time round

Not long until Christmas is here!

Here's My Card:

I started my card with a Whisper White card base. My first layer was from the  Heartwarming Hugs DSP, this was followed by a Pear Pizzazz strip embossed with the Scripty 3D Embossing Folder. My rectangle is cut from Whisper White. These are topped with some Mossy Meadow Diagonal Striped Ribbon, this was all adhered to the card base with multipurpose liquid glue. My lady gnome is from the Gnome for the Holidays stamp set and is stamped in Momento Black ink. I coloured her with an assortment of Stampin Markers and Stampin Blends. I used the Layering Oval Dies to cut around the gnome and also used a scalloped Layering Oval die and cut another piece from the same DSP - Heartwarming Hugs but using the reverse side, these were attached to the card using dimensionals. The sentiment, also from Gnome for the Season is stamped in Versamark and heat embossed with White Embossing Powder on a strip of Pear Pizzazz cardstock which I cut at and angle on one end with snips.

I finished the card with 3 Pearl Basic Jewels which I coloured using a Real Red Stampin Blender Pen.

The inside is layered with Pear Pizazz, then Whisper White. The Pear Pizzazz has been stamped around the outside in Pear Pizzazz Ink with the same image as the card front, only just her hat which is also a tree. The Whisper White layer is stamped with the same hat/tree image and sentiment is also from the Gnome for the Holidays stamp set stamped in Versamark and heat embossed with Copper Embossing Powder. The tree has then been coloured with Stampin Blends. Both layers were attached using multipurpose liquid glue.

Thank you for stopping by, next up is Narelle Macey,

Christmas is only 54 days away
These colours just screamed Christmas as soon as I saw them.

Here's My Card:

I started with a Merry Merlot card base. My first layer was Just Jade, followed by Basic Grey which was embossed with the Tin Tile Embossing Folder, I also added a little Versamark to the embossing folder to add a little shine. I then cut a smaller rectangle from the Just Jade In Colour 2020-2022 DSP as a base for my ornaments, these are from the Christmas Gleaming Stampset, the ornaments were stamped with Merry Merlot on Whisper White and Merry Merlot Cardstock and cut out with the Gleaming Ornaments Punches. I cut 2 strips of Shaded Spruce cardstock and embossed these with the Subtle Embossing Folder to give an impression of ribbon. Two layers of leaves were cut from the Forever Flourishing Dies from Shaded Spruce Cardstock. I arranged the ornaments and attached them with multipurpose glue except one which was popped up with dimensionals. The leaves were attached with multipurpose glue and 3 pearls were stuck as holly. My sentiment is from Tag Buffet stampset and has been stamped with Merry Merlot on Whisper White cardstock and fussy cut, then attached with dimensionals.

The inside is layered with Just Jade, then Whisper White. The saying is from Tag Buffet Stampset and has been stamped in Merry Merlot. The Ornaments and leaves are the same as the front of the card which have all been attached using multipurpose glue.

INKspired #125 Plaid Inspired Scrap

Hi everyone.

Welcome to this fortnight's INKspired Blog Hop!

Before me on the hop was Sharon Arklay who I'm sure provided inspiration using the add Plaid Inspired Scrap Challenge below designed by Teneale Williams:

How about you have a go with this add Plaid INKspired Scrap Challenge?
I would love to see what you come up with!

Plaid is not something I normally use but usually avoid,
but I totally enjoyed this
I made 2 cards for this challenge:

My first Card
I started my card with a Blackberry Bliss card base. My first layer was the Plaid Tidings DSP taking the full face of the card. This was followed by a Mango Melody then Whisper White cardstock cut smaller but in the same size. The stampset used is Lovely You and the colours used are Mango Melody, Seaside Spray and Blackberry Bliss. The Sentiment strip is cut from Seaside Spray Cardstock. The Sentiment, also from Lovely You is stamped in Blackberry Bliss. The end of the sentiment is has been punched with the Lovely Labels Pick a Punch. I wound some Gold Metallic Trim from the Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack around the sentiment strip. The card was then finished with 3 Gold Metallic Pearls.
My second card
I started my card with a Thick Whisper White card base. My first layer was Real Red cardstock, followed by a Whisper White layer. DSP used is from Plaid Tidings which I attached to the Whisper White layer at an angle and cut around the layer edge. I then used my score tool with a metal ruler and scored some lines around the DSP. I then tied a bow in Real Red Sheer Ribbon and attached it to the layer over the DSP with glue dots. The stampset used on this card is Gnome For The Holidays which I stamped the greeting and gnome in momento black. I also stamped the gnome using Momento Black once again on the DSP and cut around his hat and attached to the image stamped on the card. Colouring was done using Stampin Up Markers.

These cards have made me gain more interest in using Plaid more often, not just at Christmas time.
Thank you for stopping by, next up is Teresa Irwin,
Looking forward to seeing what  has created this time round

INKspired #124 Sketch Challenge

Hi everyone.

Before me on the hop was Jo Wilson who I'm sure provided inspiration using the Sketch Challenge below designed by Teneale Williams:

I would love to see what you come up with!

Taking a little break from Christmas cards,
I returned to my favourite, flowers.
Here's My Card:

I started my card with a Thick Whisper White card base. My first layer was Mint Macaron which I embossed using the Greenery Embossing folder, this was followed by a Whisper White strip embossed with the Subtle Embossing Folder. I then cut 3 scalloped Squares from the Layering Squares Dies in Just Jade cardstock, 3 smaller squares also from the Layering Squares Dies were cut from Shimmery White cardstock. These were stamped with a flower from Lovely You stampset and coloured using Magenta Madness and Bumblebee for the flowers and Just Jade for the stems and leaves using Stampin Up! Markers. The Squares were popped up on Dimensionals. The sentiment comes from the Well Said stampset which was stamped in Mint Macaron on Mint Macaron Cardstock. I finished the card with 3 Pearl Basic Jewels.
I think that Just Jade and Mint Macaron go well combined together, what do you think?

The inside is layered with Mint Macaron, then Whisper White. The stamped images are from Lovely You in Just Jade and Mint Macaron, the flowers are coloured using Magenta Madness and Bumblebee Markers. I have cut the 2 top corners of the Whisper White using the Trio Punch.

Thank you for stopping by, next up is Maree McIntosh,

INKspired #123 Colour Challenge

Hi everyone.
Welcome to this fortnight's INKspired Blog Hop!

Before me on the hop was Maree McIntosh, who I'm sure gave you inspiration with her wonderful creation using the Colour Combo Challenge below designed by Teneale Williams:

Make sure you hop all the way around to check out the wonderful and talented creations everyone has contributed this time round!

How about you have a go with this Colour Challenge?
I would love to see what you come up with!

Returning from a week at beautiful Merimbula with my lovely husband and great friends, I have been thinking all week what I can do without using flowers for a change.

As Christmas is only 96 days away
I thought I would start on cards for Christmas.
Here's My Card:

I started with a Real Red card base. My first layer was Pear Pizzazz, followed by Crumb Cake - layered on dimensionals (both have been embossed with the Subtle Embossing Folder just at different angles, it was then finished off with a beautiful layer of Plush Poinsettia Specialty Paper.
My stamped images are all from the Returning fave! Christmas Gleaming. The baubles are stamped in Crumb Cake and coloured with Crumb Cake and Real Red Stampin Blends, A small amount of colour lifter has been added to give the baubles a real round shape. The first bauble was stuck down with tear and tape adhesive, as glue would not hold on the specialty paper, and the second with dimensionals. The holly leaves have been stamped onto water colour paper with Mossy Meadow Ink and coloured with a water painters using Mossy Meadow ink. The holly is stamped with Real Red Ink on to whisper white cardstock and coloured with Real Red Stampin Blends also the colour is has been lifted a little here also and finished with some wink of stella. The holly and leaves was fussy cut, leaves have been curled using a bone folder and then stuck down with tear and tape adhesive, the holly berries have then been glued on using multipurpose adhesive. The sentiment Merry Christmas has been stamped using Mossy Meadow ink and fussy cut, it is attached to the bauble with multipurpose adhesive and dimensionals. The bow has been made from the gold metallic trim from the Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack and attached with a glue dot.
For those of you that have crafted with me, know very well that I cannot tie bows, this one just happened for me today so I made sure I attached it to the card.

The inside is quite plain, layered with Pear Pizzazz, then Whisper White. The stamped images are from Christmas Gleaming. The Bauble is stamped in Crumb Cake and coloured using Real Red and Crumb Cake Blends. The dots around the bauble are stamped in Pear Pizzazz. The top and bottom borders are stamped in Mossy Meadow.

Thank you for stopping by, next up is Teresa Irwin,
